The Strathmore Water Polo Club practices at the Strathmore Aquatic Centre. This pool is managed by the Town of Strathmore. We must adhere to their policies in regards to Covid.
Youth Activities and Youth Participation
· For the purposes of this program, a youth is someone who is under the age of 18 years of age.
· Youth participating in youth activities in a facility that is participating in REP are not required to be screened as part of the REP.
o Parents who are required to support youth in their activities (e.g. parent and tot groups) would be required to follow REP requirements in order to attend.
o Youth are subject to physical distancing at all other times when not engaged in the physical activity (e.g. locker rooms, common areas etc.)
· If youth wish to access other amenities beyond youth-specific sports, recreation or performance activities in a facility participating in REP, for these purposes they will be required to be screened per the REP, as applicable (12+ years of age).
· Coaches, instructors, trainers, referees etc. for youth activities, who are 18 years or older, are subject to the public health measures or REP requirements in the facility.
Youth between the ages of 12 (vaccine eligible) to 17 years of age are exempt from the Restriction Exemption Program vaccination requirement to enter the facility for the purpose of participating in any internal or external youth organized activity.
All spectators, or those that wish to visit any Town of Strathmore recreation facility (public areas) that are 12+ but are not participating in a youth program, must show proof of vaccination, proof of a negative test, or exemption to gain entry to the premises.
All adult sport participants, 18+ years of age, must show proof of vaccination, proof of a negative test, or medical exemption to gain entry to the premises to participate in any recreation or sport activity, or any public area.
From Sept 20 to Oct 25: The vaccine requirement can be fulfilled if a user has received at least one dose of a Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccine. Proof of a single dose is acceptable as long as the dose was given more than two weeks before time of entry to a Town of Strathmore recreation facility.
From Oct 25 onward: Participants required to provide proof of vaccination must have received two doses of a Health Canada approved COVID-19 vaccines.
The Town of Strathmore will be accepting negative COVID-19 test results in lieu of vaccine status. Tests must be privately-paid, Health Canada approved rapid antigen, rapid PCR or lab-based PCR test completed within the previous 72 hours.
Valid test results should be a written or printed copy that clearly outlines the type of test, time of sample collection, clear indication of a negative result, and laboratory that completed the test, if applicable. Photos of a rapid test result taken offsite is not sufficient.
Do not bring completed self-tests or rapid tests to businesses due to communicable disease risk. Tests must not be from Alberta Health Services or Alberta Precision Laboratories.
